Welcome to Curry
At the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia, students and faculty work together to discover, to create, and to create change. Through rigorous academic excellence, compassionate service learning and evidence-based, innovative research, our goal is to prepare the best new teachers, administrators, researchers, guidance counselors, and specialists.
Discover. Create. Change.
Discover. Whether it’s spending time with students and teachers in classrooms, analyzing evidence in labs, or working with injured athletes, faculty and students at the Curry School are constantly discovering. Here, we are discovering new areas of concern and frustration; discovering new ideas for solving those problems; and discovering new ways to implement those solutions.
Create. What comes with the discovery of needs and solutions is the responsibility to create new tools, centers and programs that meet these needs and to create the means by which the solutions are distributed. At Curry, we take this responsibility personally and approach it with a creative spirit and with research-based methods.
Change. The ultimate goal of our work at Curry is that we make an impact on the current state of education, locally, nationally, and internationally. We are continuing to implement creative solutions that spring from evidence-based research to make significant changes. As a result, the impact of our work can be witnessed in changes here in Charlottesville and as far away as Mozambique.
